The Cosmetic Products (Restriction of Chemical Substances) Regulations 2024 now lists BHT under Annex III of the UK Cosmetics Regulation, categorizing it as a restricted substance.<\/p><p>This amendment is in response to the SAG-CS&#8217;s February 2023 assessment regarding the safety of BHT in cosmetic products.<\/p><p><strong>According to the new entry 322, BHT shall meet the following concentration limits:<\/strong><\/p><p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-aaaf928 elementor-widget elementor-widget-image\" data-id=\"aaaf928\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"image.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<img decoding=\"async\" width=\"705\" height=\"152\" src=\"https:\/\/cosmewax.camsec.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Imagen1.jpg\" class=\"attachment-large size-large wp-image-34202\" alt=\"european cosmetics regulation\" srcset=\"https:\/\/cosmewax.camsec.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Imagen1.jpg 705w, https:\/\/cosmewax.camsec.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Imagen1-300x65.jpg 300w, https:\/\/cosmewax.camsec.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Imagen1-700x151.jpg 700w, https:\/\/cosmewax.camsec.es\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/04\/Imagen1-600x129.jpg 600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 705px) 100vw, 705px\" \/>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-168ba16 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"168ba16\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<h2>\u00a0<\/h2><h2>What are the implementation dates for this european cosmetics regulation?<\/h2>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-84cbc14 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"84cbc14\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The deadlines for these new amendments are as follows:<\/p><ul><li>Products containing certain substances listed in <b>Annex II<\/b> will be prohibited from entering the Union market from May 1, 2025, with a complete ban enforced from May 1, 2026.<\/li><li>For substances such as <b>Genistein, Daidzein, Kojic Acid, Alpha-Arbutin, and Arbutin<\/b> (entries 373, 374, 375, 377, and 378 in Annex III), cannot be placed on the European Union market from February 1, 2025, with stricter enforcement beginning on November 1, 2025.<\/li><li><b>Vitamin A<\/b> (entry 376 in Annex III) follows a similar trajectory, with non-compliant products barred from placement starting from November 1, 2025, and complete prohibition from May 1, 2027.<\/li><li>Transitional provisions apply to <b>Triclocarban<\/b> and <b>Triclosan<\/b> (entries 23 and 25), allowing non-compliant products to be placed until December 31, 2024, if they meet conditions applicable by April 23, 2024. Products already on the market by that date can continue to be made available until October 31, 2025.<\/li><\/ul><div>\u00a0<\/div><div>\u00a0<\/div><p>Regarding the <b>restriction on the use of BHT<\/b>, the deadlines allow the following transition period to adapt to these new standards:<\/p><ul><li>Cosmetic products that do not conform to the updated limits cannot be introduced to the UK market from February 24, 2025.<\/li><li>Cosmetic products already on the market as of this date can continue to be sold until June 24, 2025.<\/li><\/ul><div><b>\u00a0<\/b><\/div><p>Feel free to <a
